Jessamyn and Michael's engagement

I spent a lovely afternoon with Jessamyn and Michael for their engagement session. I do most of my sessions in the warm weather outside, so I love the challenge of shooting all indoors when the weather is not quite as forgiving.

We started at the Cultural Center downtown. I love these lights on the floor.

They're very cute together and really didn't need any direction from me.

A little walk outside

We next hit up the lobby of Hotel Allegro. There are so many fabulous places there.

Thanks for a fabulous afternoon, Jessamyn and Michael!

Colorado

Catch-up time! I went out to Colorado back in September to visit a few friends from college who had been inviting me out for years. I spent most of the time in Boulder, and it's beautiful there!

My friend Mike and I hung out in the downtown area of Boulder, and I couldn't resist shooting this!

I was enjoying various textures and colors

Mike asked me to shoot a formal portrait for his business, so he got all fancied up for me!

I did manage to see some wildlife while exploring

Awww... random couple we saw out on our journeys

We had fun balancing my camera on a rock for this

Look at how high up we were!

Sapna and Dev's Wedding

Sapna and Dev's wedding was glorious. There was a really small group of guests, so I got the chance to meet and talk with many of their family members throughout the day. They were all so kind and welcoming. Their ceremony was held at the Radhey Shyam Temple, and we all headed over to the Indian House Restaurant in Oakbrook (awesome food!) for the reception.

Gorgeous!

The ceremony started with the eldest person blessing the couple: Sapna's grandmother

There were lots of cute moments during the ceremony.

During the reception Sapna's sister asked if I would take a few photos that showed off her eyelashes (done at Mario Tricoci). But of course!

These two are constantly laughing together; I loved it!

Stick around the slideshow!

KC and Feanil's engagement celebration

KC and Feanil had a fabulous engagement ceremony and party! Lots of color, lots of people, and lots of glitter and sparkle. KC has been writing about her experiences of marrying into an Indian family for the past few months, which is quite an interesting read: Bahu Boot Camp; Intercultural Wedding Adventures

I loved all the details of KC's outfit and jewelry.

They're so cute together!

These hearts had been painted on the pavement just outside the location, and they requested a shot with them.

A moment during the ceremony: KC and her parents' hands

There were many cute little kids at the party

Dancing time!

These guys were lifting Feanil's mom up on their shoulders

So much color and movement! I loved it.

Slideshow! It's slow to load, so please be patient.

Aloha!!

Greetings from Hawai'i! I'm loving this warm weather (although it was warm when I left Chicago too!), and the scenery is beautiful. I'll have lots of photos to share, but here's one to hold everyone over.

Today I'm competing with my chorus at the Sweet Adelines International convention! If you're online today, watch us at 3:05pm Honolulu time (7:05 central):
