Hawai'i Trip

Hawai'i photos! I traveled to Honolulu two months ago for a chorus competition (which we won!), and my parents, brother, and brother's girlfriend came along to see us and check out the island. It was beautiful there! I didn't have a whole lot of time to explore the island between our rehearsals and performances, but here is a sampling of what I saw.

There were many animals on the property of my hotel

I went to Pearl Harbor, and this was from the USS Arizona Memorial

Interesting patterns from the oil from the Arizona

Honolulu Family Portrait

I briefly blogged about my trip to Hawaii in November, and more will come soon! While there I had the great pleasure of shooting my friend Allison's family portrait. Allison and I sing in chorus together and I was very excited to be able to hang out with her super-fabulous family.

we had fun playing on these rocks for a while

the whole gang: Ralph, Violet, Allison, and Max

Aww...

There was no way we'd be staying dry during this shoot

And for more family fun, be sure and check out the slideshow below.

Jessamyn and Michael's engagement

I spent a lovely afternoon with Jessamyn and Michael for their engagement session. I do most of my sessions in the warm weather outside, so I love the challenge of shooting all indoors when the weather is not quite as forgiving.

We started at the Cultural Center downtown. I love these lights on the floor.

They're very cute together and really didn't need any direction from me.

A little walk outside

We next hit up the lobby of Hotel Allegro. There are so many fabulous places there.

Thanks for a fabulous afternoon, Jessamyn and Michael!

Colorado

Catch-up time! I went out to Colorado back in September to visit a few friends from college who had been inviting me out for years. I spent most of the time in Boulder, and it's beautiful there!

My friend Mike and I hung out in the downtown area of Boulder, and I couldn't resist shooting this!

I was enjoying various textures and colors

Mike asked me to shoot a formal portrait for his business, so he got all fancied up for me!

I did manage to see some wildlife while exploring

Awww... random couple we saw out on our journeys

We had fun balancing my camera on a rock for this

Look at how high up we were!
