Over Memorial Day weekend, my aunt and uncle from New York came to Chicago for a lovely visit. I always love to see family! I didn't shoot all that much, but here are a few to share.
The obligatory staring up at the Bean (Cloud Gate) with uncle Michael
We made an appearance to see little Seamus and Violet

Kansas City
Whenever I travel for a wedding, I love to take a little extra time and explore the city, especially if it's a new location for me. This was my first time in Kansas City, so I spent a lot of time wandering around interesting areas.
One of the many fountains in the city; this one right outside Union Station
There was awesome light streaming through Union Station
The glowing Nelson-Atkins Museum
One of four really cool giant shuttlecocks outside the museum

Family portrait in Hyde Park
My friend Mike asked me a few weeks back if I would be available to shoot his family's portrait while they were all in town for his graduation. I was very excited that schedules worked out and I got to meet his fabulous family for a morning of fun exploring Hyde Park.
We headed over to Promontory Point, a really beautiful park right on the lake
Also to Ida Noyes hall on the University of Chicago campus.
I loved the reflections on this table!
I always like to do smaller groups when photographing families. Here are mom and dad!
And the "kids"

Thanks to all for a great morning!

Chasity and William's Wedding
I spent the weekend in the lovely Kansas City for Chasity and William's wedding. It was held at the beautiful Loretto, a perfect place for a wedding! The day was filled with laughter and emotion, and everyone was such a joy to be around.
Hanging out with the guys for a bit
I loved the detail on Chasity's dress
Beautiful!
Married! As I was cleaning out my bag at the hotel later that night, I found quite a few rose petals that had fallen in.
They had a fun balcony to play with
Beautiful bouquet by Victorian Gardens
Got to love the Electric Slide!
The perfect time of night for an exterior - love that blue sky

Maria and Wes's wedding
What a fun group of people I had the pleasure of working with! I drove down to Cincinnati for Maria and Wes's wedding and had such a fabulous time.
I loved the detail on Maria's ring
Gorgeous bouquet!
Maria described Nana as the cutest Italian lady you'll ever meet; she was right!
The girls and I went to Eden Park for photos before the ceremony - this wall was great!
I loved that Maria agreed to climb up on this wall
One of their little flower girls, talking to Maria and her dad just moments before the ceremony
A gorgeous church!
The reception was held at the magnificent Cincinnati Union Terminal. We were able to do a few photos in the private and normally locked old office of the original Union Station president. It felt very 1930s to me.
We had a beautiful sunset to play with out front
Thanks for a fabulous time, Maria and Wes!
